App Inventor 1 Course for Kids (10 – 12)

Your Child’s First Step Towards Publishing their own Mobile Apps

In this program, students will translate their prior understanding of programming concepts on the Scratch Platform into mobile Apps using the MIT App Inventor Platform.

With a similar visual drag-and-drop interface as Scratch, but greater capabilities, App Inventor allows students to apply their computational thinking skills and creativity to create fully functional mobile Apps that run on mobile phones.

Students will have a paradigm shift in their mindset; the mobile phone is no longer merely a gaming/entertainment device, but a tool for them to make Apps and games that they can share with their friends and families. They get to make fun Apps such as a Countdown Timer, Racing Games, Robot Shooter games, and more!

Our award-winning curriculum has been specially designed to draw parallels to PSLE Math topics such as Algebra, Geometry, Ratio and Speed. These and other mathematical concepts will be applied vigorously in their app creation, allowing your child to see the link between their favourite app and what they have learned in school. With expert guidance from our instructor, your child will easily understand how commonly used Apps function and start developing some ideas of their own. Who knows, they may soon be creating the next Grab or WhatsApp!
